Tonight’s dinner is brought to you by the 17-minute-chicken recipe, except it’s ribs and it’s in the oven.

barbecue pork ribs


1 rack pork ribs – NOT brined – I use the cryopac ribs
1/2 recipe 17-minute-chicken barbecue sauce (found here) or other barbecue sauce

Sprinkle the rack with some kind of steak seasoning – we used Weber Roasted Garlic and Herb Seasoning that we bought on our last trip to the coast as a replacement for both the salt and pepper left at home (I forgot the picnic tote). Wrap the seasoned rack, meaty side up, in two layers of foil to prevent leakage and bake on a cookie sheet in a 300-degree oven for 1 hour.

Pull them out and increase the oven temperature to 400. Open the foil carefully and spread most of the barbecue sauce over the ribs saving some for the table. Put the open package of ribs back in the oven and bake another 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let sit five minutes before serving with extra sauce.
